Hello everyone,

Got through a tough intensity week in Jericho, VT and went to Sugarloaf. I had no idea how pretty that area of Maine was. We put in a large volume week, mainly on foot or bicycle. It was nice not to do too many workouts on roller skis as we were on them every day in Jericho. It seems we ran up every Mt Sugarloaf area had to offer and biked through every town in the vicinity. I enjoyed Sugarloaf a ton but I was a little excited to leave as I was flying back to Minneapolis afterward to see my parents.

I have not been away for that long but it was still nice to see them and all my friends that I went to high school with. One of the highlights of going back to Minnesota was that I was back during the MN State Fair. The Minnesota State Fair is on of the biggest in the country (for as long as I can remember it has been the second biggest behind Texas but last year it was the Third biggest). I hope my attendance helps move the MN state Fair back up to second this year. I know that we will never beat Texas but that is mostly to do with the fact that their fair is twice as long.

I am now heading back up to the county to start the fall cycle of training. I am coming back well rested and ready to get in a lot of good training. I am excited for the opportunity to get such good training in through the fall as this is the first year that I will not be attending school and instead will be focusing 100% on biathlon training. That said I understand that doing too much could be a bad thing so I am going to make sure that I train a lot and rest a lot so that this winter I will be fresh and strong.

"Hi all,

A lot has happened since I last posted. The team went down to Jericho VT for the USBA summer fesival, which was a lot of fun. We got some good training in and the races were fun as always. The conditions for the races (and the whole camp for that matter) were pretty good. The pavement was dry for the races which is always a big deal as moss grows on the pavement since it is wet so much of the time and it becomes very slippery and dangerous when wet. The races went well and I ended up 7th and 4th in the sprint and pursuit. I learn a lot from the races and that is more the point of the races at Jericho than getting on the podium. I know what I have to work on and now all I need to do is get to work and get it done."

Hi all, I'm Ben Greenwald. I've been skiing for 8 years and comboing that with shooting for the past 4. I originally hale from Minneapolis, MN. I skied for my high school, St Paul Academy, where I recently graduated from this spring and skied on the club team Go! Training with Piotr Bednarski. I trained with Minnesota Biathlon for the past 4 years but only on a part time basis as it is tough to juggle school, skiing and driving 45 min to an hour to get to the range.

I am definitely what people call a city kid but look forward to the change of pace that come with living in a smaller, closer nit community. I come from an area where no one really knows what biathlon is so coming here where we are really part of the community should be great. I like how my banker is also a volunteer on the penalty loop at all the major events.
